Marinated Elk Satay

1 kg elk leg, sirloin or any steak
1/8 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 crushed garlic cloves
1/4 cup light olive oil

Cut the elk meat into strips or cubes. Mix together the rest of the ingredients to make the marinade. Place meat on skewers and let marinate over night. BBQ on medium high until rare to medium rare. Serve with roasted vegetables and salads or in a pita pocket with your favourite toppings.
